Do YOU Still Trust Google? Many Don’t…and I Don’t Blame Them!

This Pyre Build By Craig Huffstetler, posted in News, Web 2.0

According to many, Google is now the most untrusted company on the Internet.

Let’s see how people take it. This post’s purpose is to update you on the cascade affect in the coming days as the wave draws back to sea.

What do you think? Will the residual effects linger? Will Google will remain untrusted for long or will they patch up their relationship with the user-base?

One interesting point: their user adoption rate is dwindling for Chrome. It’s still at 2%, but inside of that it’s actually at 2.4%, lower than the earlier 2.6% and projected to rise. Many projecting it to grow.

  1. I think it is easy to become scared of google because of the power that they are starting to acquire. Companies like microsoft have trained us that having interests across several markets leads to the damage and attack of consumers.

However I have yet to see a move by google that really put me on edge. While they have always had the possibility of using a lot of their power to their advantage I don’t know that I can think of an occasion where they actually have.

  2. Great point. I need to take my news reporter hat off, and put my social media “analyst” hat on. Expect an update on the blog soon.

I think the points over the web, and the social & blog-o-sphere as they have been termed, seem to be dwindling now. Google had a rapid response.

I compare this in classic terms to Tylenol and their scare back where we can all remember — they quickly apologize, had massive Public Relations efforts about it, and cleared the shelves. What could be better for their public image? And it worked!

Google did the same. What more could we ask for? I think people realize this in the social and blog-o-sphere. It’s starting the Dwindle by everything I can see.

I will report on that soon.
